UPDATE 5.24.26
Belly Up is the event that I shoot the most regularly. Without fail, it is an event that I look forward to each month and miss it when I cannot attend. The people that I have met are some of the best out there and the relationships that I’ve been able to revitalize with my pre-existing friends has been a true blessing. Sometimes it feels like it’s statistically impossible for a dude in his late 40’s to make new friends, but here we are…out there in the world…meeting new people. Wild times.

UPDATE 5.24.26
Spent a few hours shooting the HEAT event at Jackhammer on Friday evening. I arrived a little early so as to avoid walking into a super-packed venue. For whatever reason, my anxiety going into the event was at a higher-than-normal level but the gradual ramp-up of the crowds arriving let me get my bearings and get shooting.
There was also some more intense “club” lighting happening and it took me a good while to adapt my camera settings, but we finally got there and got working. The crowd ended up being super friendly and I met a handful of really great people.
Around 2AM when I dumped my memory cards I realized I had some shots that I was really happy with and then spent the next two hours working through a bunch more. I had ZERO business staying up until 4AM that night as I had to be back to my day job at 10AM, but hey…shit happens. You can see the full set of photos from the evening HERE.
Update 5.22.26
Memorial Day weekend is here and I’ve got a few gig to cover in the next few days. Last night I was shooting “Dad’s Den” at Jackhammer. When I arrived around 8PM the place was packed. It’s always a bit overwhelming to walk into a venue that is so crowded like that. I had to take a couple of laps before I truly got comfortable and could start shooting. Thankfully, there were some familiar faces to help ease me into things. It’s so interesting the amount of new people I’ve met in the last year working these events. It’s been really nice to feel more connected to the community at large via this event photography. You can see the full set from the evening HERE
